Tickets in Jira status having category done is diasappearing

I wanted to change a Jira status category from Done to in-progress so that those tickets doe not disapper from my board after 60 days. Though I was able change the category from Done to In-progress, all the tickets associated with that status have disappeared. If I change it back, it shows under view option, but not appearing on the board. Please help.

Hi Dear,

This could occur because the board is configured to automatically hide completed issues after a certain amount of time (e.g., 2 weeks). Additionally, when an issue moves to a Done status, Jira sets the Resolution field to "Done" (as a best practice, it should be set this way).

If you later change the issue to another status but don't clear the Resolution, Jira will still consider it completed and it will no longer appear on the board.

Possible solutions:

  • Check Board settings > Completed work items and extend or disable the time limit.
  • Set up a post-function or automation to clear the Resolution field when leaving "Done."
  • Confirm that the board filter doesn't have additional conditions that exclude resolved issues.
