Hi everyone, I asked the same question about a week ago but for some reason it seems like my post has disappeared.

We are currently using Jira Software (Cloud) with 3 free licenses.

Despite different information about Mailhandle, we cannot generate tickets directly by email in our projects.

Is this because of the free license or is there a special trick to make this possible?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards
Alex

Hello Alex,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

There is no limitation on Cloud free when it comes to receiving requests via email.

May I know if you followed the steps of the documentation below?

Receive emails from new users

To allow Jira to handle email messages sent from people without a Jira user account:

  1. Create an anonymous or dummy mail account on your mail server.
  2. Create an equivalent anonymous or dummy Jira user account, whose email address matches the mail account you just created.
  3. When configuring your mail handler options, set the Default Reporter to be the anonymous or dummy Jira user account.

Please, take your time to test and feel free to share with us the configuration of the incoming email handler, just make sure to hide private information.

Regards,
Angélica
