Can anyone tell me what's the difference between epic and feature in Jira? Can they mean the same thing, for instance, new functionality? Do they always have some kind of hierarchy? Epic --> feature ---> user story? if yes, could you please give an example?
AFAIK Feature isn’t an OOTB issuetype but maybe that is a recent change. You can certainly create issuetypes but the fall into either task or subtask type. Jira has the following issuetype ‘categories’: Epic - story/task - subtask.
