The description details were lost after migrating from team-managed to company-managed Jira spaces.

We migrated from team-managed to company-managed projects without choosing the retain option, and as a result, we lost most of the descriptions for the migrated issues. We found some description changes in the history logs for a few issue types, but the format is incorrect. For many issue types, the description changes are missing from the history logs. How can we recover the lost descriptions?

Hi @Veena Kunchala ,

I believe there's no supported method to recover this. Even if you would 'migrate back' to the original space, that wouldn't mean descriptions would be restored.

If you have a backup or export (CSV/XML) of your issues from before the migration, you may be able to restore the descriptions by re-importing or manually copying the data. 🤔

As you're on a paid plan, you could reach out to Atlassian Support to see if they could dig things out from history and then make bulk updates.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hello @Tomislav Tobijas

Thank you for your response.
I tried to submit a support ticket through Atlassian Support, but I got stuck on a page saying things are running a little slow, and I haven't received a ticket confirmation or any reply. My entire team is experiencing the same issue and can't raise a support ticket. I also tried emailing them, but the response said the mailbox isn't monitored and asked me to raise a ticket, which isn't working. This is currently affecting us. Please let me know if there is an alternative way to contact them.

Regards

@Veena Kunchala, I've asked someone from the Community support team to chime in here. They can probably raise a request in your name.

Not sure why you're experiencing this. Their official Statuspage says Support should be operational 👀

Hello @Shalini Pradhan

Here is the Source URL Cloud for Mortgage - Scrum Board - Jira ( Team managed project) and the destination where we migrated all the issues is Summary - C4M-Dev57 - Jira(Company managed project)
Kindly let me know if you want me to send the list of issues we migrated

Thanks and Regards
