The Sprint are not automatically started

QueenMary Bastin
July 6, 2026

We recently migrated from Jira Data Center (DC) to Jira Cloud.

After the migration, some teams were unable to start their sprints that were scheduled to begin on July 6. When users attempted to start the sprints manually, they found that the "Start Sprint" option was not available in Jira Cloud.

Additionally, we observed that the sprint start date had automatically changed from July 6 to July 5, which is one day earlier than expected.

As part of our investigation, we verified the time zone settings in both Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud under the System settings. In both environments, the Default User Time Zone is configured as (GMT-08:00) Los Angeles, so there does not appear to be any time zone mismatch at the system level.

The sprints are

  • Fw2_FY26_Jul_1_Lanterns
  • Fw2_FY26_Jul_1_Sunstars
