Test in Jira software menu

We are using the free version of JIRA in our organization, we are trying to add tests in Jira and I don't see it as a part of the software, is it a seperate plug in or is it due to license?

You can add an issue type of "test" if you want, but it will still behave like any other issue type.

Most people who do test tracking in Jira do indeed get an app to help them with it - they add functions appropriate for handling tests.
