Teams - Jira selection

Any recommendations in Jira to allow the selection of multiple teams on a single work item. multiple teams not users nor groups

You can use the Team field to assign the primary (owning) team on the work item and then introduce a custom field (such as a multi-select) to capture any additional contributing teams. The additional teams would need to be manually maintained within the field’s options and they would not be linked to or behave the same as the actual Atlassian Teams used in the native Team field.

I concur with @Jason Krewson 's answer.

At this time the Team field is a unique custom field type. It is not supported to create addition custom fields based on that type for either single or multiple selections.

There is a change request for that to which you can add your vote.
