Hello - I am my company's Jira org admin. I am testing out some of the team managed project templates and need help with permissions.
Use case: Team managed project for employee reviews, I would like any user to be able to create an issue in the project via forms, but not able to view any of the issues to keep it confidential.
Our organization is currently set to allow any logged in user to browse all projects, and i'd like to leave that mostly in place, locking down only certain projects. When I set up the permissions in the team managed project, I've created a new role that is only allowing issue creation, and applied it to our all user group, but others are still able to see the project issues. I am not seeing anything is the sites project permission settings where I can adjust team-managed projects or apply a scheme to team managed.
Welcome @Sara Kellam
This is due to the access level of your project. There are 3 access levels:
One thing to keep in mind is that Jira admins are able to see private team managed projects.
Thank you Nikola! That helps - all of my project managers are a site admin, and they were the ones I had testing. However, this will be tricky, I still want them to be able to admin the application, but not see each others review feedback. Any suggestions?

There are also restrictions that you can add the restrictions to your issue types. You need to navigate to Project settings > Issue types and you should be able to see the lock icon (this is available for software projects mostly). Clicking on the lock it will ask you to which project role you want to limit a specific issue type. Once this has been set, it will apply ONLY to the newest created issues with that certain issue type, where I would suggest that you create a new issue type that will have that restriction and also communicate this to your team.

Yeah, i'm not seeing a lock option in the settings, likely not an option in the team managed. Unless you're thinking to create a global issue type and bring it into the team managed project?

You need to be the administrator of your project first. Then when you go to issue types you should see the lock icon.

So, the lock icon is only available for team managed software projects - what could be done is to bulk move your issues from business to a new software team managed project.

I am the admin of the project, but do not have the lock icon.
