Using a scrum board and want to see swim lanes by stories with all the child tasks (not using subtasks) associated with the story in the same swim lane.
Instead the child tasks of the stories are displaying in no particular order under 'Other Issues' .
Maybe you could base swimlanes on queries and link the child tasks to the main story using a field that can be used to link them.
Hi Lynn,
As far as I know, this is no possible out of the box. The design is that the child task are the sub-task. All other tasks are actually links to the stories.
You could have Epics and based the swim lanes off of Epics where it will show all the task and stories belonging to that Epic.
Thanks,
Ben

Hi @Lynn Hagan -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Short answer: that is not possible with out-of-the-box features.
The built-in hierarchy of issue types is Epic > Issue (story/task/bug) > Sub-task. When showing swim lanes "by story" only child subtasks could be shown in the lanes, plus the "other" lane for the remaining issues.
How are you configuring "child tasks"? If this is by Issue Linking, that is not a parent/child relationship in the same way as for Issue and Sub-tasks.
Kind regards,
Bill
