Task mode is required.

while creating task or user story or any  Task mode is required  coming automatically from past 2 days

Hi @santosh__kumar ,

if you are Jira Administrators, you can check where the field 'Task mode' is marked as required and update it, if it isn't required for Story:

1. It can be set as required in Field configuration scheme. You can change it to optional but please check if the same scheme isn't used for other projects or work types where it should be required, then you need to create a new scheme for Story.

2. If it's required in your project for Tasks and you have the same Field configuration scheme for Task and Story, you can update the field context and select that it's relevant only for Tasks.

3. There can be a validator on the create transition in your workflow. Again, if this workflow is used only for Story, you can delete this validator. If it's used also for other projects/ work types, create a copy of your workflow, update it and assign to Story in your project.

If it is required for Story, then update your screen, but again, check if it's used only for Story 😊

Hi @santosh__kumar  and welcome to the Community!

I assume you are in a Company managed project?

It looks like someone created a custom field called "Task mode" and made it Required upon creation of new work items. Is there a field named Task mode with a red asterix somewhere in the create screen?

If not open up a work item and click on the three dots in the upper right corner and go to "Find your field" and search for "Task mode". The dialog will tell you why it isn't visible. You need to ask a Jira administrator to add the field to your create screen.
