We've had some use cases where we want to sync a Slack thread with Jira comments (not-JSM). Many of our users explicitly use Slack only but run slack workflows to create Jira tickets and need to update via comments in that thread that the workflow and/or slackbot created the ticket in.
We want it to be automated and not have to manually sync anything, or use Assist as it should be visible to those in the channel (everyone in the channel would have access to the Jira space). Although, I don't see a sync option in Slack when creating a Jira ticket (via a slackbot or slack workflow).
I've explored using webhooks, automation, but it usually ends up one-way.
Hello @Robert Tang ,
The only thing I could find on this was Sync your Slack threads with Jira work items , below is what it says.
Thread sync adds the messages from a Slack thread as comments on a Jira work item. This keeps the conversation context attached to the work item and makes it searchable in Jira
When you sync a thread, all previous messages are synced, not just new ones. Any new replies added after syncing will continue to appear as comments on the Jira work item automatically.
In a channel where you've pasted a Jira link, select Sync with thread on the link preview card.
Select Confirm for all thread replies (including previous messages) to be added as comments to the Jira work item.
If you no longer want new Slack messages syncing to Jira, you can unsync the thread at any time:
Select More actions () on the link preview card in the thread.
Select Unsync thread.
Messages already synced will remain as comments on the Jira work item. Only new replies will stop syncing.
When you create a single work item using the Jira app, the Slack thread is automatically synced with that work item's comments. Synced threads are not enabled by default when multiple work items are created simultaneously in the same thread.
Hope this helps!
Thanks, I did see that option, I don't actually have the Sync option with the preview card.
We're also hoping to not have to manually select Sync every time since the channel would have a decent amount of tickets created via the slackbot.

Sounds good, we will see if anyone else has some ideas that will help.
