Sync database with Jira (Confluence potentially)

Hello folks. Quick question.
I have a client that has many fields and field options accross different DB. I want to give them the best advice to sync field options with Jira because these fields tend to be updated regularly.

For now, two options come to my mind :
1) Use an addon (I know Elements connect but I would be delighted to know about your favorite addon for that case).
2) Try to use a solution with Confluence database (this would be experimental since I don't know if that connexion would really work). I had the idea to have multiple databases in Confluence and that any update from one of them would update the adequate field in Jira, but I know for a fact that I am a dreamer :p

Do you have any advice for me here ?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi @Flavien Gache ,

I work at Elements as the Product Marketing Manager for Elements Connect, and indeed, the first option seems the best for you.

Your client can try Elements Connect, the app has a free trial of 30 days (and stay free under 10 users).

It allow to sync and display data from external databases directly in Jira. Instead of duplicating information or relying on manual updates, you can configure connected custom fields in Jira to pull live data from your database.

In case you are still interested in your second option, you can also configure Confluence instances as a datasource.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like more details or have further questions.

Hi @Flavien Gache ,

The option 1 for me it is the best option and what it is usually offered for this kind of situations.

Another option, but only if you have Jira Service Management Premium, is throug Asset Data Manager using the database connector and then reverting the data in a Object Type (and mapping the object type to a custom field).

I hope it helps
