My swimlanes simply doesn't work on my Kanban board.
1. My board is managed by the company.
2. I've tried sorting swimlanes by epic, story, owner, etc.
3. I've removed all filters from the board, but it doesn't work.
I can organize by grouping my epics.
Hi @Carlos Cardoso If you want to show the custom groups defined in in the board setting, you will have to select "Group: Queries".
I've recorded a quick Loom to demonstrate how it works:

Hope that helps.

Hi @Jens Schumacher - Released_so
Thank you very much, I will try to organize via JQL the visualization of the lanes by a query that brings me only the epics that are not in the backlog and their respective tasks and subtasks

Hi Carlos,
What do you mean by "it doesn't work"? You need to give us more information than that. What are you expecting to see based on the data on your board that you are not seeing?

What is it that you are wanting to see on the board? If Epics, then try basing the swimlanes on Query and put in: issuetype = Epic for the swimlane code.

Hi @John Funk
I want to visualize my Swimlanes without the need to visualize grouping epics
Following your suggestion:

"I want to visualize my Swimlanes without the need to visualize grouping epics" - What does this mean? What are you expecting to see in the swimlanes?

If I configure the view by Swimlanes here:
I wouldn't need to group by epics to view the Swimlanes on my board, right?

My problem is there, I configure the Swimlanes and it doesn't reflect on my board :/

Epic

So you have cleared all filters and you are not grouping by anything on the board, correct? And you have the Swimlane above saved, correct?
Now, change the Group to Queries on the board.

Does not group by any configuration

I don't see Queries under the Agrupar dropdown. Is it in there? My board shows the heading but also the Queries value on it.

Would you please clarify what does not work as expected? For example, when I do X, what I instead see is Y. Seeing a screen image may help too.
And, you note using a company-managed project with a Kanban board. That has both the Group By dropdown field on the board and the Swimlanes configuration under the board settings. Which one are you using?
Kind regards,
Bill

Hello @Bill Sheboy
I'm using a company-managed Kanban board, but I can only see the Swimlanes I've configured when I group them by epics.
@Bill Sheboy Is this expected behavior?

@Carlos Cardoso -- Thanks for those screen images, and that appears to be correct.
I found several defects around this behavior, explaining the documentation problem where the swimlanes feature now only works when you also select the Group By to match it. This could definitely cause confusion for a team.
You may watch / vote for those to see progress on them:

Hi @Bill Sheboy
So the Swimlanes function in the board layout no longer exists, is that it?

It still exists. Just the UI has gotten a little confusing since the functionality to select the swimlanes has largely moved to the group by menu on the board.
