Story Points at the release level

Is there a way to add a field to track estimated and actual story points at the release level?

Here is the question that was sent to me.

We’d like to add a custom field in Jira for our project. The field will be used to hold high level estimates done at the release level. We’d like to keep the existing estimate field for the more detailed estimates.
