Is there a way to re-sort. organize the custom statuses added to the jira cloud instance? The default jira report seem to use the show status column in random order depending on how the status categories are organized. Please advise on how to arrange the statuses from To-Do, In Progress and Done in that order.
Thanks
Pankaj
Hello @Pankaj Mehta
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
To which "default jira report" are you referring? Can you provide a screen image?
Does his concern data from a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project or both types of projects in the same report?
I meant dashboards that use the native gadgets for eg: a two-dimensional gadget was used to create a dashboard for release vs status
The header shows statuses not in the status category order and there is no way to arrange these from To-Do to Done.
Thanks

For data from Company Managed projects when you elect to sort the Statuses in Natural order then they will be sorted based on their order in the global Statuses page:
https://<yourBaseURL>/secure/admin/ViewStatuses.jspa
You can reorder the statuses on that page to change the Natural ordering of them in dashboard gadgets. Such changes will affect all such configured gadgets.

We have about 150+ custom statuses to rearrange in that view and moving each one with the up-down arrow is not feasible. Is there anything like the "move to position" option that we have for Select List type field.

Unfortunately, no, there is not an easier way in the UI to reorder the statuses.
There is a change request about that to which you can add your vote:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69156
You may want to consider if all those statuses are really needed, and why they are really needed. Could you go through a consolidation process to reduce the overall number of statuses (realizing that could impact filters, automations, workflows, etc)? Do you have lots of "done" statuses that should instead be Resolutions values for a more generic "done" status?

How do i set multiple resolution values for the "Done" status? And make sure the correct resolution value is picked?

Hello @Pankaj Mehta
For Team Managed projects it is not currently possible to have multiple values available for Resolution. There is a change request about that here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-92747
For Company Managed projects you can add more Resolution values following the guidance in this document:
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/add-edit-or-delete-resolutions/
You can modify the Workflow for Company Managed projects so that when an issue transitions to a particular Status the workflow automatically sets the Resolution field, or presents a screen allowing the user to set the Resolution field. You can find guidance on that in this document.
