Status dropdowns need a dead zone around them in list view

In list views, like the Backlog view, or Linked Issues/Child Issues section on an issue, I often find myself missing the status dropdown and clicking just a small amount above or below it.

Missing the dropdown means that I'm then navigated to the issue I was intending to set the status on.

Part of this is me fumbling, but the dropdowns are small, and the way the mouse pointer changes when you hover over various parts of the issue doesn't indicate it'll navigate you.

I'm using a 1440p monitor, and the dropdowns are 13 pixels high, in a row that's 40 pixels high.

This could be solved by either making the dropdown button larger, which would probably make the UI look a bit weird/inconsistent, or adding a dead zone above and below the status dropdown so that it doesn't navigate to the issue.

This is less of a problem in the backlog view, as it just opens the issue in the page, but if you're dealing with Linked/Child issues it's a pain to be navigated away.

Is this something that the Jira team can fix?

Hi @Max Gruebner welcome to the community.  I took a quick look at Atlassian's jira site (jira.atlassian.com) and didn't see anything.  You could take a look if you want, to see if you can find anything similar.  Otherwise, I would suggest bringing this to Support's attention (support.atlassian.com), maybe they can help with the situation.

Hope that helps.
