On my project, we noticed the status button was moved today to below the ticket summary. Does anyone know if there is a way to place it back in the original location?

This seems a topic that several other users are reporting today. You seem to be part of an experiment by Atlassian to enhance the flow of work with this. As per this thread with an accepted answer you should be able to reach out to Atlassian support to have it put back in its previous place.
