Sprint report does not properly reflect closed/done work items

Christina Urban May 19, 2021

The sprint report no longer reflects completed work items.  The state of the work items within the sprint report view is not accurate.

Here you can see that this work item is done:

Sprint report does not show completed work items and the state shows that it is open. This is also causing the velocity chart to be off.  It appears as if the team hasn't completed any work (which is not the case).

Why would the state in the sprint report be inaccurate? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Christina,

I feel you pain. I have a Story with a Resolved date of 25 July, showing up as completed in the sprint that finished 26- September.  or about two months after it was resolved. Not only that it is not in the completed items in the sprint covering its resolution date.  The last history log item is from 1 September.

So, I agree you cannot trust the Sprint Reports which greatly impacts the use of the tool.

And sorry I have no answer on how to fix but clearly the issue is 4 years old and no resolution.

Are you looking at a sprint that is still active or a completed sprint?

For a completed sprint, the status for the issue shown in the Sprint Report reflects the status of the issue at the time the Sprint was Completed, not the current status of the issue.

Hi @Christina Urban

I believe that the Sprint Report shows issues as completed when they are marked as "resolved".  Please check your workflow to confirm if the final issue status is marking issues as resolved.

Best regards,

Bill
