Sprint burndown using original estimate and release burndown using storypoints

For the boards we can either define estimation using story points or hours/original estimate.

I want to generate sprint burndown using hours or original estimate and release burndown and velocity charts using story points. How is this possible in jira or is this a contraint?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Jira boards were created to allow only a single board estimation, so it is applied to all the board reports and can not be selected on a per report basis. However, the board estimation is not static, and changing it does not affect your report in a permanent way.

That being said, you can work around this limitation using one of the following approaches:

1. change the estimation to the correct one when you want to check one of the reports
2. Create two separate boards, returning the same issues and Sprints but using different board estimations, so you can switch between them

Thanks that looks like a better suggestion. However in the future releases this should be accommodated as an enhancement where we can select story points for release burn down and hours for sprint burndown.

Hello Vijit,

I'm afraid that is a constraint of Jira, however, you can check the Atlassian Marketplace for Add-Ons that allow you to go further in the settings of your charts.
