Just assuming that you are using a company managed project (you can check the bottom left corner of your screen when you're viewing the board), your workflow for bugs most likely has an initial status that is not mapped to the backlog column of your board.
To fix that, navigate to Board Settings > columns and make sure:
- there aren't any unmapped statuses in your board;
- drag the initial status from your bug workflow to the leftmost column of the board
If that is not what is causing the issue, check Board Settings > general and make sure that the board filter you see there is not excluding bugs from the board.
