Hello All,

My name is Soumitra Dutta oxford based entrepreneur and photographer, I’m running into permission‑denied errors on my USA setup and I’m not sure what’s causing them. For those who’ve dealt with this before, what would you suggest checking? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello @Soumitra Dutta 

  1. If you're unable to access Jira entirely, this is most likely related to a license or product access issue
  2. If you're unable to access a specific space(previosly project), it is usually related to project permissions or project role
  3. If you're unable to access a specific ticket, it may be due to an issue security level
  4. If you're unable to access a specific board, it is related to board filter permissions

Please reach out to your Jira administrator, and they should be able to identify and resolve the issue quickly

Welcome to the community.

What kind permission errors do you run in to?

If there are space (project) specific permissions issues, reach out the the space (project) manager.

Or if they can't help to you Jira administrator.

If you have problems accessing the system at all, you will need to reach to the Site or Org administrator.

Or reach out to the IT department, to find the right people to help you out.

Hi @Soumitra Dutta and welcome to the community,

Do you have problems accessing the Jira application itself, specific spaces/projects or specifik work items?

  • If you have problems accessing Jira, contact your Org-admin and make sure you are a licensed user in the application.
  • If you have problems accessing specific spaces make sure you have access to the spaces (you need to have the 'Browse projects' permission to be able to access company managed projects. For Team managed projects you need to be a member.
  • If you have problems accessing specific work items it is most probably because there is a secrurity level set to the work item. Make sure you are in the group that have been given permission to view the work item.

All these issues needs to be handled by your jira admins or Organization admin in your organization.
