Sort order on custom field

I have a custom field that is text that holds a person first and last name

I have created a filter with the following syntax.

project = OB AND issuetype = Epic AND status in ("In Progress", "To Do") ORDER BY cf[11827] ASC

The search will not give me the correct results sorted. The custom field seems to be in a random order

What order are you expecting, and what are you getting?

The custom field is a name of the account manager. In the results it is not sorted by account managers name alphabetically.
