Some users cannot add a comment to the flag

Some users cannot add a comment to the flag. Has anyone run into this?

Hi @Diana Rodriguez,

Generally, for adding flag and comment to the flag users need to have below permissions in the project. 

• Edit Issues
• Add Comments
• Browse Projects

In the JIRA on-demand version whenever you add a flag you will able comment on the issue while adding a flag. Please see the page Flagging an issue on cloud for reference.

In your JIRA server version, you will be able to Add flag or Add flag and comment. Please see the page Flagging an issue for reference.

Please make sure your users have the required permission in order to add a flag and comment on it.

Thanks Vijay-- so the users that cannot add comments when flagging are the Assignees of the tasks. 

They can comment, create new tasks, and other JIRA functions, but for some reason when they add a flag they do not get a pop up to add a comment.
