Some strings in my Jira Server 8.9 instance are displayed in Italian even if the system language is set to English. My user language is set to English as well, and I've already tried to explicitly set the JVM locale to en_US, but that didn't solve the issue.

For example, in the "Create issue" window, the "Linked Epic" string is displayed as "Epic collegato", but many more strings present the same problem.

Hello @Gianmarco Reverberi

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Please, follow the steps below to properly troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Try to use a different browser to open your issue in incognito mode, confirming if the field is not being translated by any browser settings or extensions.
  2. Check if you are not using any translation plugins under the Manage apps section:
    Managing Apps in Jira Server
  3. Check if you are not facing the problem number 1 mentioned in this article:
JIRA Displays a Mixture of Different Languages

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi @Petter Gonçalves

Thank you for your fast reply!

I tried steps 1 and 3 without success. I already explicitly set the locale in the JVM start parameters, and in fact I can see the following in the "JVM Input Arguments":

 -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=US

I also checked for any translation plugin as you suggested in step 2, but I can't see anything other than the language packs.
