Some assignees are missing in Jira Business Board Stand-up view

Megha Das

Hi everyone,

I'm using a Jira Business Board, and I've noticed that a few assignees don't appear in the Stand-up view, even though they have issues assigned to them. Other assignees show up as expected.

What could cause some assignees to be missing from the Stand-up view? Are there any board settings, filters, or permissions that affect which assignees are displayed?

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi

I just checked in my own instance and subtasks are visible when running the standup from the board, both in Business and Software Spaces.

It doesn't matter if the Parent issue is assigned or not (or the subtask itself). Everything visible on the board is also visible during the standup. It also doesn't matter if the subtask is Done or not

So it *should work* as you expect

You can test and change the "View settings" in the upper right corner but I think it would affect both the board and the Standup view in the same way.

Sorry if itsn't much help. Please post an answer if you manage to solve this. It would be interesting to know the root cause.

Best regards,
/Staffan

Hi @Staffan Redelius

Thanks for trying to help me. I agree that sub-tasks can be visible in the Stand-up view. The issue is that only 2–3 specific assignees don't appear in the list, while everyone else does.

I also tried changing the view settings, but that didn't resolve the problem.

If I figure out the root cause, I'll definitely come back and post the solution here. Thank you!

Hey @Gor Greyan

Thanks for replying.

Yes, the work items assigned to those users are visible on the Board view. The board currently doesn't have any filters applied. However, when I switch to the Stand-up view, a few assignees are missing from the list even though they have assigned work.

Hey @Megha Das

Thanks for confirming.

According to the official documentation, users with assigned work items should appear in the Stand-up list, so based on what you've described, I'd recommend raising a case with Atlassian Support for further investigation.

Hi @Gor Greyan

Okay, thank you!

One additional detail that may or may not be helpful: the users who are missing from the Stand-up view only have sub-tasks assigned to them. They don't have any parent issues such as a Task, Story, or Epic assigned directly.

Could that be the reason they're not appearing in the Stand-up view?

Hi @Megha Das

Hi sub-tasks should be in the stand-up.

Is your board grouped by sub-task, if not then sub-tasks are not shown in the Stand-up.

Hello @Marc -Devoteam-

Thanks for replying.

When I group the board by Sub-tasks, sub-tasks assigned to other team members do appear in the Stand-up view. It's only 2–3 specific assignees who are missing, even though they also have sub-tasks assigned.

That's my exact concern.

Hi @Megha Das

Are these sub-tasks in a different space? do these users have correct permissions on the space the Stand-up is done in?

Hi @Megha Das

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If the users already have issues assigned to them that appear on the board, then they should normally be listed in the Stand-up view as well.

Do their assigned work items appear on the board and match the board's current filters?
