Software vs Core usage when all you need is Core

Joe Chapman April 22, 2021

My team needs only Core to manage projects however, we're going to be given access to Software (8.13 LTS) due to the licenses that we already have available to us.

Anything I should know about in terms of training, documentation or functions before getting into this? Is it merely a case of Software supporting additional features that we likely won't use or is there a difference in the UX/UI that might cause confusion for us?

Hi @Joe Chapman,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

You are correct, Jira Software just gives you additional features that is geared towards software development. Other than that, everything works the same. Here is a good overview of the differences between Jira Core and Jira Software, http://www.akeles.com/what-are-the-differences-between-jira-software-jira-service-desk-and-jira-core/
