Slowly load of JIRA's in Lotus Notes. Is this a problem we can resolve within Lotus notes with a setting? Or is there another solution?

Description

HTML emails received contain three graphic images which load from the JIRA instance. However, if you don't have a live connection, the email appears to be blank for a few seconds until the email browser times out attempting to load the images.

To improve performance, suggest removing the graphics or embedding them into the message so they can be viewed even if not connected.

The problem is that we are working with an older Lotus Notes and this doesn't have the menu as described above to sop him from trying to download the images.

Your options are

1. Upgrade Notes (From a vague memory, last time I was crippled by having to use Notes, the version we were on was the oldest supported version, and it had this option in it).
2. Get your users to swap to plain text emails
3. Edit the email templates to remove all the images - see http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Customising+Email+Content

To make images in JIRA's emails display in Lotus Notes, you'd need to do the following, so it would make sense to do the opposite if you do not want the images to display:

• From the File menu, choose Preferences, then User Preferences.
• Click Mail to expand it, then click Internet.
• Clear the 'Do not show remote images without my permission' checkbox to automatically display remote images in Internet email you receive.
• Click OK.
