Site URL Already Taken - Seeking Access Recovery for [superpmt2.atlassian.net]

Dear Atlassian Support Team,

I am writing to request assistance regarding access to an existing Jira site.

The Issue: I previously created the following URL: http://superpmt2.atlassian.net/

However, when I attempt to log in to Jira now, the system prompts me to set up a new site. When I try to use the URL above, I receive an error message stating that the site name is already taken.

The Challenges:

  1. I cannot recall which specific email account or at what time I originally registered this site.

  2. I am currently unable to access the administrator dashboard because the system does not recognize my current login as the owner of that specific URL.

My Request: I would like to regain access to this site or, if that is not possible, prove my ownership so that the site can be deactivated or transferred to my current account.

Could you please provide guidance on:

  • How I can verify my identity/ownership of this site?

  • What information (e.g., past billing info or domain verification) is required to recover this instance?

I am happy to provide any necessary documentation to resolve this ownership conflict.

Best regards,
YuChe

Hello @Yu Che

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

When was the last time you accessed the site?

Were you using a free subscription?

Atlassian reserves the right to deactivate inactive free subscriptions. They send emails warning about deactivation to the Organization admin. After deactivation the data is held for a period of time before being deleted. It is possible that the site was deactivated and is now in the process of being deleted, or has already been deleted and somebody else set up a new site with that name.

You can contact Atlassian directly to get more assistance by completing and submitting the form here:

Hi @Yu Che

You can try logging in at https://admin.atlassian.com/, which will show you any Atlassian organizations you have access to.   Atlassian Support provides limited support for free plans, but you can try reaching out to see what they can do for you.

Thanks for the reply.

I've logged in but still can't find anything regarding the URL:
http://superpmt2.atlassian.net/

Is there another way to identify which account/org it's under?

If the account you think it's registered to doesn't have access, you can try to request access, and that should generate a notification to whichever address owns the site.

Outside of that, your best bet would be to reach out to Atlassian Support and see what they can do to help.
