Sidebar unresponsive in Google Chrome

James Leslie September 27, 2018

I am using Google Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (64-bit). The sidebar is unresponsive (none of the buttons are clickable).

After clearing my browser cache, the bar becomes responsive again, until I change to any other page - then it returns to being unresponsive.

I experience the same thing in incognito mode. The bar will work when I first sign in, but will then become unresponsive after I begin to navigate around the site.

I have tried to disable Adblocker, no luck there either. This is a rather fatal error, as it basically renders the entire site unusable.

Hello @James Leslie,

That is rather an odd occurrence that the sidebar is not responsive only to your user account. Could you try to see if the issue occurs in JIRA Safe Mode?

Kind regards,
Irfan

Hi @Irfan Mazli Mazuki
Thanks for the help, as of yesterday it is working again. Got a message from someone at Atlassian Support who said my "navigation experience" had been updated.

Hi @James Leslie

Welcome to the community,

Could you please go over all the steps described in the following documentation?

Regards

Dave

Hi @Dave Bosman [Realdolmen]

Thanks for the response. I have tried all of the possible fixes listed in that troubleshooting guide.

The problem repeats across both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18, on Firefox (62.0.2-1) and Chrome (69.0.3497.100).

I have worked out that this issue is only specific to my user account, I have tried using a colleague's laptop and the problem occurs when logging in with my credentials, but not when logging in with hers.

The only thing i can think of is, are you both using the same language. As it could be that there is an error in the language pack.

Otherwise i have no clue what it could be.

Thanks, I gave that a try. Unfortunately still no luck...
