Hi All,

I really would benefit from seeing the Epic Name appearing for all issue types as it would help me with my need to gather Epic data aggregated by Name for all issues for our scrum teams.

We are on the cloud instance of JIRA.

Can anyone help advise if this has been resolved or not?

thanks

Lolita

The Epic Name field is applicable to Epics only. This field is used to give the Epic a "short name" along with its colored label. If you try to place the Epic Name field on a screen for any other issue type, you will be prevented from entering anything into that field.

What I think you're looking for is the Epic Link field. You should place this field on the screens for other issue types you want to be able to include within an existing Epic. This Epic Link field will show the value you input into the Epic Name field on the parent Epic in addition to its colored label.

NOTE: an Epic Link cannot be configured on sub-task issue types, only on "regular" issue types other than Epic.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply.  I am indeed using Epic link fields and the Epic Name fields for the purpose you described above.  However, I have realised the problem i am looking to solve is not to see the Epic Name on all issue types because yes i have achieved that with the Epic Link field.

I will therefore be raising a new ticket for the actual problem i need to articulate!

Cheers

Lolita
