Sharing documents with 3rd party via automation

How can you share attachments with a 3rd party using an automation but not including the reporter?

Welcome to the Community !

The attachments are object within the JIRA issue module, hence attachment cannot be shared with other until  user is given access to issue itself (so, For issues -> it has to be project -> Site)

You may send a mail to 3rd party recipient via automation email having the issue details and attachment link (NOTE: that's the link, not the actual attachment)

Not sure if you can answer the below but my aim is the reporter sends in a request etc.... once the request is dealt with we send a document back to them. However, we also have to share the document with other people that are not included in the original request and cannot be included in this either or see the thread between us and our customer. We need to share the documents with them via some kind of add on or automation.

Hi, 
Once the reporter completes initial documentation process, you may have a trigger for an automation to create another work item (previously JIRA TICKET/ISSUE) wherein that ticket will be linked to initial ticket but not visible to reporter or any other if required (work item security - this can be done by your jira admin only)

Again, if you share the document and have another ticket, means they can visit the ticket and do the documentation.
