I have created a template with tasks and subtasks in a business (project management)/JIRA Core project. I wanted to know if there was a way to "make a copy" of the project so the tasks and subtasks would stay the same but I could rename the project. Or if there was a way to share the tasks and subtasks with other projects. I don't know if there is a way to share tasks in the administrative portion of JIRA or if there is an addon from the marketplace that would achieve the same result.
Thanks!
I think this option is only available on Jira Server or Data Center, but ScriptRunner has a built-in script called "copy project," which gives you the option to copy a project (the project's configuration, template dashboards, versions, components, and issues). Any time you want to create a new project based on this template, you would use this template project as the source.
Another option might be to create a CSV template for this template project and use the admin CSV import to create all of these task and sub-tasks for you whenever you create a new project. This option would be available in both Jira Cloud and Server.
