Setting up smtp mail server

Hi, 

I am trying to setup mail server for jira notification. I do not required incoming email. I just wanted to configure outgoing emails. 

The part I am confused is that there is a field for "From address", should that address be a valid address or can just be a dummy email address(jiraadmin@xxx.com) where the email will be sent from? 

In our company the email is O365 and it is managed by a separate team. So my question is should I ask them to create a separate email ID for JIRA notification or just I can enter any random email ID there.

From address is nothing but Sender address. you should use the address like jira@yourCompanyName.com..
