Hi, im trying to set up a support platform using Jira.

im trying to link the support mail to jira but i cant connect to the exchange serer,

i have tested making the connection using my own mail account as a test base but whenever i attempt to connect using the settings page.

i just get :SocketException: SOCKS server general failure

i dont really know what im missing, does this message indicate a server relatated issue?

Hi Jasper,

Is the mail server your connecting to a company mail server?

It might be behind a firewall or a proxy server like Nic indicates.

You should check it out with your infrastructure people.

Best regards,

Peter

Usually means there is a SOCKS proxy between the two machines and it is refusing/failing to let them talk to each other.
