Considering the difficulty of translating status transitions in Jira (modifying files, maintaining modifications during upgrades, etc...), I looked around but didn't see anyone ask if this alternative approach might be possible -- pointing to status names.
It seems like transition names can be based on i18n keys in a resource file (e.g., 'todo.name'). It's also true that status names can be translated, and thus must have some sort of unique identifier the Jira UI uses to retrieve them.
Is there a way to grab a resource key equivalent for custom status names and use that as the i18n property for transitions to get localized button labels that survive upgrades?
Thanks!
