So my work is in the middle of migrating from an on-premise Jira Service Desk, to Jira Cloud Service Desk.
We just use Jira Internally, so everyone within our small IT Dept are all Service Desk agents, while all other (80 odd) staff will be customers.
I found that to have all customers be able to see all other customer issues, i needed to create an portal Organization and have all customers in that organization.
The Issue is: at the moment i have only 3 customers in this Organization - Customers A, B & C. If Customer A raises an issue, then customers A, B & C are all notified of it.
If a Service Desk agent posts a reply on the issue for Customer A, then customers A, B & C receive emails about the reply.
In essence, how can you "share an issue" (thus the Organization), without the Organization being email spammed about everything little thing, of every issue?
Obviously notifications are set so that when an issue is created, then the Reporter & Assignee are notified - but it seems that because of this 'sharing' then everyone in the organization gets notified.
As a side thought, could i achieve something similar by using 'Watchers' instead?
I solved my own problem - just posting the answer if anyone else run's into it.
Obviously the 'Notification Scheme' was configured how we wanted it, i just hadn't modified the 'Customer Notifications' in the specific project itself;
Once i disabled this option, it stopped sending notifications to the whole organization.
