I created a simple project to track some internal tasks that need to be performed on documents. Since I did not want to overcomplicate the workflow, I opted for a blank project instead of the document revision template.
Now I wanted to set an issue to done which had been decided to not be implemented and set the resolution to "Won't do", but I'm missing the Resolution field. I also can't add it to the "Issue Type" list of fields.
It is present in the "Issues" tab though
Furthermore, I do not have the option to add screens to the issues for the project which is the solution for all the other questions I found about this topic. I can see the options for other porjects just fine (left is another project that I manage, to the right is the one, where I'm missing my Resolution field):
Welcome to the community @Patrick Engelhardt !
In Jira, there isn't a field called Resolution, instead you set the resolution based on the workflow.
Since this is the team-managed project, this limitation applies to this type of a project, meaning that resolution cannot be set in here.
I would recommend to create a company-managed project (only Jira admins are able to do this), to configure the workflow when the issue is transitioned to Done status (which is the only way to get the Resolution to add) and add the post-function on the transition that will add the resolution.
Also, it is also recommended that when transitioning to the Done status to add a Resolution Screen - default screen created by Jira in order to set the resolutions.
Ok, I feared that it would be that way. Thanks for clearifying.
