Hi,

I have set up a workflow that roughly looks like this:

  • New
  • Validation
  • Specification / UX / Design
  • Ready for development
  • In progress
  • Ready for test
  • Tested OK
  • Done

I have a sprint board that contains all steps from "Ready for development" and forth from there.

Now, when the developers or scrum masters for example break down tasks when planning a sprint, or during the sprint, they typically create them as subtasks. The issue is that even when the issues are created from within the scrum board, they get status = "New".
This of course causes them not to be visible in the board.

The question is how I can create issues from within the scrum board without needing to move them through the workflow until they reach "Ready for development"?

You can't.  You are using a workflow that says "create issue lands on New".  So when the users create an issue, it's new.
