I am a developer. When working on development tickets, I often write SQL scripts in SSMS, so that I can prepare tests or do other one off analysis. I save these to my machine in case I need to reference them later. I was considering attaching the sripts to the Jira ticket, so that it would be available to others working on the same ticket, but this adds the additional overhead and redundany of saving the file to disk and manually uploading to Jira.
I have seen applications like Microsft Word that allow loading/saving files directly to other applications, e.g., SharePoint. Does any integration exist for Jira that would allow me load/save files directly to Jira tickets as attachments?
@Michael Whitmore Welcome to the Atlassian community.
There are a lot of apps that allow you to add attachments from other applications. Each app is developed to work specifically with an application (Slack, Service Now, etc.) I am not aware of any apps that integrate with SQL management studio. I assume that is what you use to create your SQL scripts.
Got it. Thanks for the quick response.

Did you ever find a solution to this? We are dealing with the same. When you upload as an attachment, it is easy to get lost in the various other media attachments. A bit frustrating. Integration with SQL Management Studio would be great.
