The link above is for Atlassian Cloud apps only.

Here's documentation for Atlassian Data Center apps: https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/sso-for-atlassian-data-center-990546150.html

Hi @Veerapindi Satyanarayana

SSO setups for Jira DC and Cloud can feel a bit different at first. The basics are similar, but the flow and where things get configured do change between the two. A few things worth keeping in mind as you plan this out:

  • Jira DC typically uses SAML with Azure AD/Okta/Ping, while Jira Cloud routes everything through Atlassian Access, so the identity flow isn’t identical.
  • Make sure the user identifiers match across DC, Cloud, and your IdP - mismatched emails or usernames are the most common source of SSO failures.
  • Think about how provisioning will work (SCIM vs. manual) so users stay in sync as they move from DC to Cloud.
  • If you’re running DC and Cloud in parallel for a while, keep an eye on consistency so authentication behaves the same way across both environments.

In your case, you may want to explore an Atlassian Solutions Partner, OpsHub Integration Manager OIM, especially if you need both systems running side-by-side. It’s a no-code, plugin-free, bi-directional sync platform that preserves rich data like attachments, comments, and inline context, and works out-of-the-box without custom scripts.

Hope it helps! :)
