Restricting view access to only issues assigned to a user

Essentially, our requirement is to restrict view access for users with the role "Tester" to only view the issues assigned to themselves. This project is a team managed software project thus I cannot apply a permission scheme to the project. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What you are trying to do is not possible in a team-managed project, it can only be done in a company-managed project.

I don't think this is possible. The only ways to achieve this would be either

• permission schemes

or 

• issue security levels

Both features are not available to team managed projects. They more or less serve as an easy start into the product.

I would highly recommend to transfer your work to a company managed project. If you haven't configured any custom fields that shouldn't be to much of a hassle.
