Restricted access to backlog

Thierry August 28, 2020

Context : I'm using JSD with JS with 2 sprints in parallel (Back & Front)

1/ Service desk team must be authorized to create + links tickets from the issues JSD in JS backlog -> OK
2/ SDT  must be authorized to Create direct ticket in the backlog ONLY
3/ SDT only authorized to have a read only access to the sprintS (JS)

Can you explain me how to configure  2 & 3 please ?

Hi @Thierry , welcome to the Community. What you want to do is to ensure that the JSD agent has only Browse, Create and Comment issue permissions in the JSW project. Go to the JSW project > project settings > permissions to do this. This article might help - view-and-edit-project-role-permissions

note this assumes you are using Classic JSW projects.

Hi jack,
Thx for your reactivity !

is it possible to limit the permission of a Desk agent on Jira Software to

  1. Read only on created sprints
  2. and Full access on the backlog?

I don't want to give them the possibility to modify the currents sprints but they can have full access on the backlog (of Jira software again)
Thanks again

I think if you review the docs you will get your answers and beyond. If you look at the Permissions screen you will see there is a Manage Sprints permission so if the user does not have that permission they they cannot effect the sprint (start, stop, create, add, subtract). If they do not have Transition permissions they cannot go beyond the initial creation status, e.g. To Do.

I'll look in detail !
Thx again Jack
