Restrict Available Statuses when users are performing a Move operation

Basically, when we move an existing issue into a specific project, we want to ensure the issue created in the new project is always created as a specific status.

Alternately, setting the dropdown as a specific default would be sufficient.

The link above is ~5 years old at this point - any new developments on this topic?

The answer is that you can not do it. You can not restrict available statuses, when you move issues.
