Request to integrate with GitHub repo seems stuck half way

I am experimenting with Jira.  I am the only user of the Jira, so I assume that I am the admin.

I have connected Jira to two GitHub repo's that I own, and that seems to have worked without a problem.

Now I am trying to connect to a single repo (not the whole account) that someone else owns.  They say that they have approved the request.

But it doesn't show up in my list of connected GitHub organizations, and if I go to https://github.atlassian.com/github/configuration "Connect a GitHub organization to your Jira site" it is still listed there with the "connect" button greyed out and the "trash" icon says that I need admin permissions to use it if I hover over it and I can not click it.

Any suggestions on what might be missing, or how I can try to start over?
