Rename a task status

Im using a company-managed project Kanban and I would like to rename one of the statuses from "TBD" to "Backlog" as I am reorganizing the structures a bit. 

 I'm not able to change it in the workflow settings

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Only a Jira Administrator can change the name of an issue status.

A Project Administrator might be able to add a new status with the new name under limited circumstances. Issues in the original status could then be moved to the new status, and the original status removed.
