Releases View - how can I also view subtasks?

Deleted user March 23, 2019

In the release view I can't see subtasks - is there a way to enable this view?

Hello William,

It sounds like you are using a Scrum board as Sub tasks in the releases view only show up on a Kanban board, and not in Scrum boards.

There is some some room for improvement here though, as by default in Jira when using a Scrum board the parent issue will not transition until all subtasks are transitioned to done, so when you look at the releases the parent would be in a ToDo status while the subtask is being worked on.  A really useful workaround you can use to give more visibility on a parent issue in the releases of a scrum board that has started progress on the sub tasks but not the parent, is to add in a transition parent issue post function as covered in the following KB, that way the parent issues will display as in progress on your releases page after any child subtask is transitioned to InProgress.

Regards,
Earl
