Regarding Reports and Burndown Chart/ Velocity in Jira free version ! Please HELP, ASAP

Rahul Bhansali June 9, 2021 edited

I m using Jira free account version as part of my preparation for getting familiar with Scrum /Agile projects.

I am completely beginner and there are a few projects that I've added on my own and some are part of my training under one of content providers. I am unable to access the features like :
i) Reports// burndown chart/ velocity
ii) Release Version/ tagging an epic on my account
iii) Assigning / Changing roles of team members on projects (like who is a QA / who is a Scrum Master/ Developer etc.)

which are very crucial as part of my training and practice to get more familiar on agile projects. May I please request if someone can help on how to access these features. Your co-operation is highly appreciated

Hello @Rahul Bhansali

Welcome to the community.

There are some features that are not available in the JIRA Cloud Free plan. Review this page for details:

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/what-is-the-free-jira-cloud-plan

Beyond that, please provide additional information as follows.

Are you working with Team Managed or Company Managed projects? It will say in the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

What type of project did you create - Software, Work Management, or Service Management?

Can you provide a screen image of what you see when you try to navigate to Reports?

Hello @Trudy Claspill thanks for your swift revert.

I'll have a look at the link you've guided me to, meanwhile to share more information, I created a team managed , scrum based, software project. Let me share a screen shot of the same. I hope it helps you to have a look at what features I can access (navigation pane at the left, reports aren't there)

Have you enabled the Reports feature for that Team Managed project?

Click on Project Settings. Click on Features. Make sure the Reports feature is turned on.

Releases is another feature that you have to enable on that same page.

Regarding setting the Roles for user in a Team Managed project, there are limited roles available and they cannot be customized.

Here is the top level page for documentation on administering Team Managed projects.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/manage-and-administer-team-managed-projects/

For information on the default roles refer to this sub page:

Hi @Trudy Claspill

Thanks for your guidance, can't thank you enough for this help, just explored this section and unlocked what I. was looking for. Though haven't generated any reports yet in my project ( trial one I am working on, attached screens) .

Could you please guide me how does the release/ versioning works / helps ?

  • I've created 2 sprints in my project . Does the release helps in figuring out or pairing the release/ code with the  respective Sprints and their deliverables. Did I understood it correct ?

Once again, a big hug for sharing this section and helping me, much appreciated.
