Regarding JIRA LTS version Compatibility

Int@027412 October 25, 2021

Hi Team,

We do see ‘InProduct translation for JIRA’ plug-in configured in our Jira 8.5.3 version instance and we are planning to upgrade to 8.13.11 LTS Version.

Please confirm is this plug-in is compatible Jira LTS 8.13.11 version ? if not what will be the compatible version to support Jira LTS 8.13.11 ?

Regards
Sugyan

Hi Int@027412 and welcome to the community,

It looks as if the In Product Translation app is no longer available from the marketplace. At least, I can't find it anywhere.

To get some insight into compatibility, you can run an in product compatibility check by navigating in Jira to Manage Apps > Jira Update Check and selecting your desired target version (8.13.11 or even the just released 8.20).

You'll get a report with an overview of your app status.

Hi Int@027412,

Following up on your question, I did some additional research to find out that Atlassian has retired the capabilities to customise translations in general. this support article explains a bit more.

It also describes to options you can explore if you want to improve certain things for your instance:

  • either submit a support request to Atlassian;
  • or download a language pack from packages.atlassian.com where you can modify certain strings yourself (tedious and not very scalable, but possible)

Hope this helps!
