Hello team,
Im trying to reference a parent issue.
The parent is from different project.
In other words, I have one project with Initiatives.
Every Initiative has Epic children which are placed in other projects.
Im using JQL "issue = {{triggerIssue.Parent Link}}"
But I receive this log.
(the same rule works perfect when Initiative and Epic are placed at one project)
So I assume the problem is that Initiative is from different project.
Thank you in advance for advice.
Hi @Nataliya Krymska , you need to make the rule multi-project or global. Click on the cog in the upper right corner to get into the administration area and select system. Once they're in the left-hand side by the automation section and click on Global administration. Then find your rule, set the scope to include the other project where the parent is located, or change it to global if desired.
@Nataliya Krymska , You have good input from the Community and I hope that it has helped you resolve your request for help. Can you confirm if the input has helped?

Hey @Jack Brickey
Thank you a lot.
Yes, switching to Global rule instead of the Project rule solved my problem :)

Hi @Nataliya Krymska !
If you have browse permissions in both projects, you should be able to link across the projects.

if this was true in the past it is no longer true. since the "parent" replacement of epic this functionality was lost
