I seem to be getting notification emails sent to me for every Jira ticket on which anyone comments, even ones on which I am not a Watcher, Reporter, Mentioned or have anything to do with. I checked my Manage Notifications and I don't see anything obviously wrong with them. I'm getting flooded with more emails than I can open per minute....!

Are these issues in Company Managed projects or Team Managed projects?
For Company Managed projects there are Notification Schemes that determine to whom notifications should be sent for different events. Check with the project administrator(s) for the project to find out if the Notification scheme for the project has been changed in such a way that you are getting included in notifications.
